Texas is the only state that will gain two U.S. House seats through reapportionment this year. But even though that growth is driven largely by people of color, who tend to vote Democratic, GOP leaders want to gerrymander the new maps to give Democrats and communities of color even less representation!

Ever since the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts can't hear partisan gerrymandering cases, Republicans have been broadcasting their intentions to manipulate the maps as heavily as possible this year. Unless we fight back, it’s going to be 2011 on steroids.

That’s because as a Boston Globe op-ed explains, "Republicans could pick up nearly a dozen seats and take the House in 2022 through redistricting [meaning gerrymandering ] alone." BUT WE CAN STOP IF WE ACT NOW.

Here's how: We're getting the public engaged, we have experts on hand to analyze the maps, and we're ready to hold Republicans accountable and even support plaintiffs in lawsuits if necessary. But with 16 battleground states on our list, we URGENTLY need your financial support to fight in them all and in more states across the country.

If you’re able, will you make a donation to the NDRC today to help us stop Republicans from drawing themselves into the majority for the next decade or more?

Thank you,
Team NDRC
