I wish I didn’t have to say this, but our democracy is at risk. Republican legislatures across the country are rushing to pass dangerous legislation aimed at restricting the freedom to vote for communities of color. Members of Congress are downplaying the white supremacist insurrection that nearly toppled our government. And states like Arizona are undergoing sham audits contesting the results of the 2020 election. The threats are real – and I’m worried. 

These discriminatory policies are ripped right from the Jim Crow playbook. We can’t accept the disenfranchisement of Black and brown voters. We can’t accept baseless legal challenges and disinformation. This crisis requires urgency – and that’s why we’re taking action.
