[1]Cori Bush

John,

One year ago today, Cori shocked the establishment and defeated a 20-year
incumbent to become the first Black woman to represent Missouri in
Congress and the first activist from the movement in defense of Black
lives to be elected to federal office.

And just yesterday, Cori had another crucial victory securing an extended
eviction moratorium. For five days, Cori took a stand on the Capitol steps
to ensure no one would lose their homes during a pandemic just because
Congress decided to go on vacation.

John, it was
thanks to Cori's activism — and the support of this grassroots team — that
President Biden heard our call and issued a new eviction moratorium.

We're not surprised. Every day for the past 365 days Cori has been working
to transform St. Louis and communities like it. From introducing the Green
New Deal for Cities with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to the People's
Response Act to transform our public safety system and The Unhoused Bill
of Rights to end our unhoused crisis by 2025 — Cori has been organizing
and legislating to save lives.

It is exactly because Cori is an activist, a single mother, a person who
has lived unhoused, and someone who knows what it feels like to not be
represented that we are making waves in Congress. And Cori's not finished
yet, she's got big plans to create a more just world for everyone.

From August 4, 2020, to August 3, 2021, Cori has already changed
Washington for the better. Now, we need to keep Cori in Congress fighting
for the working families of Missouri's First District.

will you chip in $5 or
more to re-elect Cori and power her legislating and organizing work to
save lives?

In solidarity,

Team Cori
