Yesterday, our movement — because of Cori Bush's leadership — moved
mountains to extend the eviction moratorium.

We proved that organized people have the power to make transformative
change in the lives of working people, rather than relying on the
establishment who too often dictate the policies that impact our lives.

But on the same day, Nina Turner lost her critical election in Ohio's 11th
District. Dark money sources like the Democratic Majority for Israel, a
PAC that also invested heavily against Jamaal in 2020, spent more money
opposing Nina Turner than nearly all other outside spending combined — and
this time, they prevailed.

We knew this would be an uphill battle from the moment Nina announced her
campaign, because our team's been there before. And while this is a
devastating loss, we cannot let this curb our momentum,
John.

Our progressive, grassroots movement is a force to be reckoned with, and
the establishment knows that. That's why they spend millions of dollars
trying to stop our momentum all across the country. Defeating Nina Turner
was a part of their plan to do just that — but we know that where they
have millions of dollars, we have the people on our side.

John, we can't
let the establishment get us down. We need to prepare for other big,
important fights ahead to continue to grow our movement — and continue to
prove that we're here to stay.
