John,

As a physician, few things were more heartbreaking than knowing that a medication that could help a patient manage their illness, or even save a patient’s life, was too expensive for them to afford.

And this problem isn’t going away — in fact, it is only getting worse. Just this past year, drug companies raised the price of hundreds of medications, making already outrageous prices astronomical.

That was crushing news for the 44 percent of Americans who struggle to afford their prescriptions.

Prescription drugs are still too expensive and difficult to access for far too many people in this country. I’m running for U.S. Senate to change that by allowing Medicare to negotiate directly with drug companies and expand access to generic drugs, both of which could help reduce the cost of prescription drugs.

If you agree that it’s past time for a change, will you add your name next to mine in support of lowering prescription drug prices?

When a mom is cutting her insulin dose in half because that's all she can afford, she needs help — not more bills. Thanks for speaking out to make sure folks across our country get the help they need.
