Hi John,
Congresswoman Cori Bush’s eviction moratorium protest, where she slept outside the Capitol for several days, shows how important it is we keep trying to fight the status quo.
Can you fund my campaign against the 13th most conservative Democrat in the House, who takes money from Big Real Estate and did nothing to prevent the eviction moratorium from expiring?
Like Cori Bush, I believe in combining direct action with political power. I spent this past winter occupying empty buildings with other organizers to get more housing for homeless people. Because of our actions, Tacoma added 200 shelter beds and made a part-time shelter full-time. This saved lives over the winter.
In Congress, I can do even more. I will fight for:
-
Building 12 million social housing units and ending homelessness.
-
Enacting reasonable rent control nationwide, so families don’t lose their homes due to eviction and small landlords can pay their mortgages.
-
Just cause for eviction, so landlords can’t perform retaliatory evictions.
-
A Right to Counsel: free eviction-prevention lawyers for low-income renters.
-
Paying back rent for the 15 million renters who are behind on their rent due to Covid.
Can you donate $7 now to help me fight for the strongest national housing policy this country has ever seen?
Joe Biden extended the eviction moratorium, but only for 60 days. I need your help to keep fighting to keep people in their homes — and to work toward enacting the long-term policies that will fix our housing crisis once and for all.
I’m ready to beat the 13th most conservative Democrat in the House and help secure housing for all. If you’re with me, please give now:
