Dear John,

I have some great news for veterans and our North Texas VA! My bipartisan bill to authorize construction of major VA medical facilities across the nation, including a Spinal Cord Injury Center in Dallas, was signed into law by President Biden. 

This bill will make sure veterans dealing with these kinds of injuries can recover and heal with the support they need and create jobs here in North Texas. You can read more about the bill and how the construction of a Spinal Cord Injury Center in Dallas will be a “godsend” for veterans in the Dallas Morning News here.

As the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq wind down, we are reminded that there is a new generation of service members who need our support -- whether it is coping with the stress of their service, getting medical care or finding a good job. Our veterans here in North Texas and across the country deserve the best quality care we have to offer. That’s why I fought hard for this bill and I am glad it was signed into law. 

We have a sacred commitment to ensure each and every one of our veterans gets the support, services and care they need when they return home. I will always work with my colleagues from both parties to deliver for our veterans and get things done for North Texas.
