Workers’ Comp: Appeals – Wednesday, August 11 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time: This one-day follow up to the Basic Workers’ Compensation webinar covers the types of appeals, the completion of an appeal form, and submission of the form in the ECOMP system. Examples of denied claims will be discussed. We recommend that participants have already attended the Basic Workers’ Compensation webinar.
E-Dues: Building Power – Tuesday, August 17 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time: This webinar is aimed at local leaders and stewards who are interested in learning more about best practices for transitioning to E-Dues. Topics include strategies for mobilizing teams, using workplace mapping to recruit with a purpose, and real examples of what has worked for other locals to successfully transition to E-Dues. We recommend completion of the Introduction to E-Dues self-paced online training prior to attending this webinar (available on the Education homepage).
Local Officer Orientation – Friday, August 20 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time: This introductory webinar for new local officers, or officers who have never received formal training, covers legal, fiduciary, and reporting requirements of local officers. Planning and budgeting for a strong, effective local is discussed.
Stewards Online Orientation – Friday, August 27 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time: A must for new AFGE stewards, or any steward who has not yet attended formal training in best practices for local stewards. This webinar overviews steward responsibilities, engaging and education bargaining unit employees, and online tools and resources.
