Hey John,
I want to fill you in on a piece of not-so-common campaigning knowledge:
August is one of the most decisive months for every campaign.
In August, campaigns are deciding how big their Field team will be (the people who knock on doors and call voters). They're deciding if they can afford one more mailer before it's too late for printers to deliver. And they're weighing whether a radio ad or a billboard on Main Street is the better investment.
10 Run for Something-endorsed campaigns across Pennsylvania and Virginia are having these conversations
right now, and
we want to make sure they have the funds they need to win.
That's why we're setting a $10,000 fundraising goal before August 15th for our Ascend fund which distributes donations directly to candidates.
Before budgets and spending are finalized, will you donate $5 or more to our Ascend program? 100% of your gift will go to our 10 candidates in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Virginia and Pennsylvania are states we know well. Our community was critical to helping flip the Virginia House of Delegates in 2017 -- something so many folks told us would be impossible. And in Pennsylvania, we've supported revolutionary candidates like Malcolm Kenyatta who are bringing new energy to a system that's partial to the old boys' network.
Winning sustainable power for progressives in these two battleground states is
vital for the future of our movement, that's why Run for Something has endorsed diverse young progressives capable of winning this November.
But our candidates are facing make-or-break decisions, the ones that will dictate the remainder of the cycle, right now.
We can make a major impact in these races today, John. Will you donate $5 or whatever you can to win sustainable power for diverse young progressives in Pennsylvania and Virginia?
Thank you,
