Before I go to bed tonight, I want to say thank you. In the past 24 hours, we’ve seen an incredible influx of support for our message of bringing people together.

I want to repeat something I said in my closing answer from last night, because I truly believe this: When we talk about the big things America has achieved, people often chalk it up to rugged individualism -- but that’s not what got us to the moon, it didn’t beat the Nazis, it didn’t map the human genome, it didn’t beat Jim Crow. Everything big that we’ve done in this country has been the result of people coming together to recognize our common purpose.

This election is no different. And a year from now, when I’m standing on stage ready to debate Donald Trump, I’ll beat him because I’ll have a grassroots army of people who know that true patriotism is loving all of the people that make up this country.
