Friend,

Democrats in 2020—including and especially President Biden—ran and won by focusing on a bold climate agenda.

The historic droughts, wildfires, and floods this summer stress how badly we still need them to take action. And it's now clear that the new bipartisan deal on infrastructure, which we always knew would skimp on climate, is not going to be the answer to this crisis.

Now that we know what's in the package, we know what we need to do: Keep the pressure on Democrats to keep their campaign promises and go big with their reconciliation package (which doesn't need a single Republican vote to pass).

Will you sign our petition today to call on senators to keep moving forward with bold climate action in the next package? After signing on, you'll have the opportunity to call your lawmakers directly (and we'll even provide a script).

ADD YOUR NAME

Just how much does this bipartisan bill skimp on climate? Billions less invested in electric buses and transit. No end to fossil fuel industry handouts. (In this economy?!) Zero investment to get us to 100% clean electricity by 2035. Without these investments (and investments in environmental justice, the Civilian Climate Corps, and so much more), there is no deal.

So your senators need to hear from you today, as they enter a crucial final week before their August break:

Sign our petition to demand that Senate Democrats take bold action on the climate crisis now.

Thanks,

Jamal Raad
