🛑 As the COVID-19 Delta variant spreads across the country, little attention is being paid to the public health crisis at the U.S. southern border. The spread of COVID-19 among illegal migrants is a real and growing concern.
* The New York Times reported at the start of July that COVID cases are surging at the migrant detention centers along the southern border.
* Fox News reported that 135 detainees in the Rio Grande Valley Sector tested positive for COVID-19 in the first two weeks of July alone, an increase of 900% compared to the previous 14 months.
* CBS News reported that authorities in South Texas issued a public health announcement after COVID-stricken migrants were released by Border Patrol and seen coughing, sneezing, and without masks inside a Whataburger restaurant. Local authorities say they are unable to stop COVID-positive migrants from leaving the area and moving on to another destination in the U.S.
* NBC News reported a second whistleblower complaint filed by two government employees saying HHS told workers to downplay widespread COVID outbreaks among migrant children at Fort Bliss, the largest U.S. facility housing migrant children.

This is not a political issue. It’s a matter of public health and one that the White House cannot continue to ignore.
