John,
Republicans, and some moderate Democrats, say we can't afford the investments needed in our communities and our future. They’d rather protect the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy. But the reality is we can't afford NOT to invest in our future.
We have a once in a generation chance to make long overdue investments―and we can afford them when the rich and corporations start paying their fair share.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema recently announced that she’s not yet sold on the $3.5 trillion investment package, leading Mitch McConnell to say that he’s “pleased.”
Let’s hold our elected officials accountable and wipe the smile off of Mitch McConnell’s face. Donate today to apply maximum pressure to U.S. senators to invest in our future―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
These investments will create jobs and address racial and economic inequities including housing, child care, immigration, lifting children out of poverty, funding eldercare, environmental justice, and more.
Thank you for fighting for a future that includes all of us.

John,
As the Senate prepares to vote on the bipartisan infrastructure package this week, all eyes now turn to the budget being crafted by Senate Budget Committee Chair Bernie Sanders.
Through budget reconciliation rules, the budget can pass with a simple majority vote, meaning we won’t need to overcome a filibuster by Mitch McConnell and his conservative allies. But now, some moderate Democrats are indicating that they’re not yet sold on the size and scope of the tax and investment package being proposed.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema from Arizona has said she won't support legislation with a $3.5 trillion budget, which makes long-overdue investments in people, families and communities. What’s Mitch McConnell's reaction? “I was certainly pleased,” McConnell told the Fox Business Network.1
Pleased!
With razor thin voting margins in the Senate, we’re letting senators know that the American people overwhelmingly support President Biden’s Build Back Better plan―and that we can afford it when the rich and corporations start paying their fair share.
Yesterday, we sent over 7,000 letters to senators demanding an investment in human needs. We need to keep the pressure on and hold members of Congress accountable to the American people.
The Senate will begin voting on the budget this week or next. Can you rush a $5 contribution today to fight for critical investments in our future―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes?
This $3.5 trillion legislation invests in people, families and communities. We need investments such as child care, home care, and paid leave, closing the Medicaid coverage gap for people now denied care, preventing evictions and hunger, keeping millions of children out of poverty by extending the Child Tax Credit, green jobs, and legal status for immigrants who contribute so much to our country. These critical investments must be paid for by finally making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
This is a fight we can win, but we’re still short of the 50 votes needed in the Senate.
Can you chip in $5 to fuel the fight to win?
