John: We chose some of our redistricting battlegrounds based on which states have the least competitive districts relative to statewide elections -- that is, where politicians are least accountable to voters.
Now a new analysis confirms our thinking. The four states with districts most out of line with their state’s elections are all on our list of battlegrounds.
The citizens of these states deserve to be able to choose leaders who actually represent them; they deserve fair maps. So do the citizens of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Ohio, and Minnesota, which are also on the less competitive side -- and all of which are among our battlegrounds.
With all these states (and more!) on our list, we clearly have our work cut out for us. Can you make a quick donation to help us fight for fairness across the country?
