friend, Students and teachers across the country are preparing to head back into the classroom in the next few weeks, and we know it won’t be easy. In addition to the looming threat of COVID-19, public schools are facing an ongoing crisis manufactured by the Koch network. From the slashing of school budgets that results in larger class sizes, low pay for teachers, and the dismantling of certain programs, to the proliferation of harmful voucher systems and the artificially created moral panic surrounding Critical Race Theory, public schools are being systematically broken down. The Koch network has played a large part in ensuring it happens, and we’ve been working hard to expose that connection. Our CRT Report explained how the anti-Critical Race Theory movement is a product of a coordinated dark money campaign. We’re looking even further into the way the Koch network harms public education with our upcoming K-12 report, which shows how the Koch network has financed local, state, and national mechanisms to create multiple crises -- only to turn around and cite these same crises as reasons to adopt their free market solutions.
