Central Sierra Foothills Green New Deal Campaign Kickoff


The Central Sierra Foothills Chapter of DSA is kicking off its campaign for a local Green New Deal! In collaboration with other local environmental groups, they will be working to pass a climate emergency resolution that sets clear targets for the City of Auburn to fight climate change while creating new local jobs in the process.

October General Membership Meeting


At our October General Membership meeting, we will hear committee updates, discuss new business, and more!

At all meetings, we adhere to the DSA "Rules for Respectful Discussion" to ensure an inclusive conversation where all voices are heard. You can read more about these guidelines here.

NOTE: If you are a new member or just want to find out how to get plugged in and help, come to the meeting 30 minutes early - the board members will be there to answer all your questions!

Housing Committee Meeting

 
Join the Housing Committee to determine how we can implement a socialist housing policy in Sacramento, and build a strong grassroots tenants' movement to collectively advocate for our own needs. We will also discuss the significance of housing to the greater movement for socialism.

Screening of Concerning Violence

 
The International Committee of the Sacramento Democratic Socialists of America presents a free screening of "Concerning Violence, written and directed by Göran Olsson, the creator of the Black Power Mixtape documentary.

Narrated by Lauryn Hill reading an essay from Frantz Fanon's classic book, The Wretched of the Earth, the film follows movements and leaders of African nationalist and independence movements in the 1960s and 1970s which challenged colonial and white minority rule.

Join the Media Committee and the Communications Committee for this combined committee meeting to discuss upcoming graphic design projects, propaganda opportunities, the new website, the new podcast, and content for the DSA Sac Blog. We will also continue developing social media protocols, communications standards, project tracking methods, and more.

Bernie 2020 Working Group: Bernie and Racial Justice Talk


Join us to watch party of the talk and discuss Jacobin and DSA’s Afrocsocialist and People of Color Caucus talk on the implications of a Bernie Sanders presidency on racial justice, with prominent Black Marxist Keeyanga-Yamahtta Taylor.
