John -- When it comes to gerrymandering, voter suppression, and generally undermining American democracy, there are A LOT of Republicans to point fingers at.
Governor Brian Kemp in Georgia signed one of the country's most restrictive voting laws. So did Governor Ron DeSantis in Florida. Texas Governor Greg Abbott is desperate to sign a similar law, and he's threatened protesting Democratic state legislators with arrest -- while vetoing pay for their staff and even maintenance workers.
U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell refuses to even consider much-needed federal democracy reform legislation. Senator Ted Cruz is spreading lies about it. And Senator Josh Hawley led the charge in the Senate to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Then we have the state legislators. Kansas state Representative Chris Croft was considering a run for a congressional seat for which he was responsible for drawing the map. Arizona Senate President Karen Fann received a personal phone call from Donald Trump thanking her for advancing that state's election recount scam.
And of course there's Trump himself.
