New York Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, according to an investigation.

Independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Tuesday that they concluded their investigation into Cuomo (D) and found he sexually harassed multiple women, including current and former state employees, by engaging in unwanted physical contact and making inappropriate comments.

"He should resign," President Joe Biden told reporters at the White House.

On Tuesday evening, Cuomo responded to the allegations in a video message, saying he “never touched anyone inappropriately” while showing photos of himself embracing and kissing celebrities, politicians, and other New Yorkers.

“I do it with everyone, Black and white, young and old, straight and LGBTQ, powerful people, friends, strangers, people who I meet on the street.”

“Watching the photo montage of Cuomo kissing people, made me wonder if any of them were asked for consent?” New York City Council Member Ben Kallos tweeted.

** House Dems Vote to Repeal Restrictions on Federal Funding of Abortions
------------------------------------------------------------

House Democrats voted last week to lift longstanding restrictions on the use of federal funds to pay for abortions included in appropriations bills for the upcoming fiscal year, although the changes are unlikely to be included in the final FY2022 legislation.

Democrats argue that the changes would broaden access to abortion for women, particularly those at lower incomes, while critics contend that federal funding shouldn’t be used to pay for abortions.

Senate Republicans and moderate Democratic senators have enough votes to use the legislative filibuster to block appropriations bills that depart from the status quo on abortion policy by denying it 60 votes. GOP senators are likely to unanimously oppose the changes, while Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said in June that, “I’m going to support Hyde in every way possible.”

The Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal Medicaid funding to provide abortions except in cases when the abortion is sought to protect the life of the mother. It was first adopted in 1976 as part of the annual Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS) funding package and restricted federal Medicaid funding.
