Hello Colorado Republicans!

This is a great week! Yesterday, two ballot initiatives that the State GOP has endorsed turned in signatures to make the 2021 ballot. One is a property tax cut, desperately needed by so many Coloradans around the state. The other is a transparency measure that would force Jared Polis and Phil Weiser to get legislative approval and citizen oversight before they spend federal slush fund money.

Today, Secretary of State Jena Griswold is holding a hearing on election rules her office has put out. Many of her rules damage transparency and security in elections, and many of you are attending that hearing online today and testifying. Know that the Republican Party stands with you and we submitted our own comments backing you up and insisting that Jena choose bipartisan transparency in her rules instead of partisan games that damage the trust of the people.

Here's my call to action for you: We are scheduling Candidate Support Days for our city council, mayor, and school board races. On these days, we will ask the team that signs up to come to a city where we can win local elections and walk for candidates. Or, we will ask you to come to our office and make phone calls or send postcards for the candidates. If you are interested in participating in a Candidate Support Day, please fill out this form ([link removed]) . This year, more than ever, local elections are critical in Colorado!

Thanks, and I hope to see you in your area of the state soon!

Complete Colorado: ([link removed]) It appears Colorado voters will get the opportunity — again — to give themselves some tax relief, as well as decide who gets to spend what are known as “custodial funds,” or money that flows into the state from sources other than Colorado taxpayers.

Proponents for ballot Initiatives 19 and 27, which would ensure that all state money is allocated by the legislature and cut property tax assessment rates by 9 percent, respectively, say they have collected the needed signatures to put both measures on the November 2021 statewide ballot.

They turned them into the Secretary of State’s office Monday.

Michael Fields, executive director of Colorado Rising Action, a Denver-based, non-profit, which according to the group’s website advocates for lower taxes, affordable and accessible health care, free enterprise, and against over-regulation, said signatures were cross checked throughout the gathering process to ensure they were valid, so he is confident his group has more than enough to meet the roughly 125,000-signature requirement.
