Last Friday, I planned to fly home from Washington, DC to spend time with my constituents back in San Diego for the month of August. But when I saw that we would be recessing before extending the eviction moratorium, I canceled my flight home in hopes of staying in session to work on solving this critical issue. The expiration of the federal eviction moratorium was projected to leave over 3.6 million households across the nation unhoused over the next two months.
I was so proud to join my friend Cori Bush on the steps of the Capitol this weekend to advocate for the urgent and necessary extension of the eviction moratorium. Today, we got word that President Biden will be replacing the expired moratorium with a new moratorium that will cover 90% of the United States’ population. I am thrilled to see real results from my colleagues and I applying pressure to the Administration.

This is the kind of work that is only possible with a Democratic majority in Congress. Can you chip in today to keep me in Congress working on the issues that matter most to American families?
