Hello!

Did you know that this week shares the anniversaries of three incredible women being confirmed to the Supreme Court?

- The late and great, notorious RBG, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on August 3
- The brilliant, energetic, talented Justice Elena Kagan on August 5
- The trailblazing, kind-hearted Justice Sonia Sotomayor on August 8

What a trio of powerhouses! I know a thing or two about the adversities that women face when it comes to getting a seat at the leadership table, particularly in public office and government.

And while the glass ceiling is certainly not yet shattered completely, we've definitely made some permanent cracks — which is why it's so important to recognize and celebrate the progress that women in this country have made and continue to achieve.

For one, we currently have the first-ever woman Vice President of the United States serving in office — and the fact that she's a woman of color makes the achievement that much more glass-breaking.

And here in New Mexico, we hit a few landmarks for women in government this past election, too:
- The New Mexico state house is now MAJORITY WOMEN.
- The New Mexico state senate has MORE WOMEN than ever before.
- New Mexico became the first state in U.S. history to have had a Congressional delegation made up of ALL WOMEN OF COLOR.

Every day, I'm truly in awe of the inspiring women who continue to make history — not just in public office but in business, athletics, education, the arts, STEM, and so much more.

I will continue using my platform in government to empower women and fight for fair representation. Together, let's work to carry on the legacy of those who have paved the way for feminism. DONATE TODAY to join me in my commitment to achieving women's equality >>
