National Low Income Housing Coalition: “Minimum wage workers can’t afford a two-bedroom rental anywhere in the country.”

John, this recent report confirms what Elaine already knew: $7.25 is not a living wage. Hard working Americans shouldn’t need more than one job to put a roof over their heads, feed their families, or meet their basic needs.

Virginia is in the process of gradually raising the minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 by 2026. In 2022, the Virginia state minimum wage will be $11 an hour.

Elaine is fighting to implement a steady increase in the minimum wage at the federal level.
