Friend --

Thank you so much for your support helping us launch our campaign last month. Thanks to you and hundreds of supporters across Montana, we are off to a really strong start.

It's difficult to celebrate at a time when our state is struggling with severe natural disasters. There are currently 36 active wildfires in Montana, and we've already seen five firefighters end up in the hospital battling these fires.

We are confronting unusually dry conditions with just 13% of our wheat crops rated better than poor. The drought has forced many ranchers to sell off cattle they can't feed or water. These challenges are only worsening as a result of the ongoing climate crisis, and we need to address climate change with the urgency it deserves.

I'd like to recognize our firefighters, especially those who have suffered injuries and are currently recovering. We must do better as a state and country to make sure they receive more pay and the resources they deserve.

If you've been impacted by these wildland fires, or need more information about keeping you and your family safe, please visit the USDA’s Wildfire Risk to Communities resource.
