In June, the filibuster was weaponized to block the passage of the For The People Act, which would have extended critical voter protections nationwide. This monumental piece of legislation could put an end to partisan redistricting, improve access to the polls, and lessen the influence of dark money on our elections.
The bill would make the initiatives we’ve fought for in Colorado, like automatic voter registration, the national standard, and ensure that the progress we’ve made in the Centennial State never gets rolled back. Reforming the use of the filibuster is the best way to get this transformational election reform package passed in the Senate.
