We just secured a HUGE WIN for the people of Nevada. . .
Governor Sisolak has spent years fighting back efforts to make Nevada’s Yucca Mountain a permanent disposal site for the country’s nuclear waste:
“Sisolak boycotts [Trump] White House events in wake of plutonium shipment”
--Las Vegas Review-Journal (2/23/19)
|
“Sisolak slams 'illegal' nuclear waste delivery sent to Nevada”
-- Reno Gazette-Journal (7/10/19)

And now President Biden has joined in on the fight, PROMISING there will be no storage of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain -- PERIOD.
We’re asking you to sign on and thank President Biden, Governor Sisolak, and ALL Nevada Leaders who’ve fought to protect our state from becoming the nation’s permanent storage site for radioactive waste. Will you? →
Governor Sisolak has spoken out against this issue time and time again because there’s no room for politics when it comes to protecting the health and safety of Nevadans.
If fully developed, Yucca Mountain would store more than 70,000 metric tons of high-level nuclear waste just 90 miles from Las Vegas -- and there are still questions about whether this would harm the drinking and water supply of nearby agricultural regions.
But thanks to hard work from our leaders, the latest agreements between state and federal officials include…
-- Removing the Trump Administration’s unauthorized shipments of plutonium by 2026
-- Requiring 30 days notification before attempting another shipment of nuclear waste
-- Monitoring by state officials of federal government to prevent unwanted plutonium shipments
This is a monumental step forward in ensuring that the people of Nevada are protected from nuclear waste -- and it’s all thanks to Governor Sisolak, President Biden, and all of Nevada’s Leaders who stood up to protect Yucca Mountain. Will you sign on to thank them? →
Thanks for your help,
Sisolak HQ
