Tell the U.S. Senate:
“Pass the PRO Act and protect workers’ rights!”
|
John,
It’s no coincidence that as workers’ rights are eroded, the gap between the rich and everyone else widens. And that, in turn, makes it harder to get Congress to pass legislation that benefits all working people—like a major overhaul of our tax system that makes the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
For decades, labor unions have been under attack by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and conservative state legislatures who advocate for and pass anti-worker legislation like so-called “right-to-work” laws that threaten collective bargaining rights and suppress wages.
Now, we have a chance to fight back and put working people first.
The U.S. House has already passed the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act―the most significant worker empowerment legislation since the Great Depression. Now, the bill sits in the Senate, obstructed by Mitch McConnell’s veto threat. We need to demand the Senate put working people, not greedy corporations, first.
Already more than 98,000 people have signed the petition demanding the U.S. Senate pass the PRO Act. Before the petition delivery with our allies at the AFL-CIO, can we reach 100,000 signers? Click here to add your name today!
If passed, the PRO Act, would:
-
Penalize employers that interfere with their employees’ organizing efforts;
-
Make explicitly clear that employers cannot interfere with employee unionization voting procedures;
-
Enhance support for worker strikes and boycotts;
-
Repeal “right-to-work” laws, which were created during the Jim Crow era to divide Black and white workers.
President Biden has committed to improving pay and working conditions for U.S. workers through the PRO Act and through the American Jobs Plan. Join Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund and our allies in fighting for workers’ rights and wages. Sign the petition today >>
If we’re going to create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few, workers need to be empowered.
