Friend,
It’s publication day for my book, Honor Bound . (I’m thrilled to share my story, in my words, with all of you.)
But that’s not the only news I have to share today.
I’m launching my latest mission: a nonprofit organization — also named Honor Bound — that will work to inspire women who have served our country to “pick up their pack” again and run for elected office.
Here’s why: There are over 2 million female veterans in America. Only nine have ever served in Congress. I’m determined to help change that. And because you’ve been such an incredible supporter in the past, I want to invite you to be a founder of this organization.
Will you make a donation, of any amount, to be an official Founding Donor and help get Honor Bound off the ground? [[link removed]] To say thanks, I’m inviting every Founding Donor to a special virtual event on my book tour. And if you make a donation of $75 or more, I’ll send you a signed copy of my memoir.
This new organization is built to address a two-sided problem: First, women are still WAY under-represented in Congress. We’ve made progress in recent years, but women still represent just 27% seats in Congress. That’s nowhere near good enough.
Additionally, veterans are also serving in Congress right now at the lowest levels since World War II. I want to change that because we need more leaders who won’t hesitate to put country over party. That core value is missing in too many elected officials these days, and the consequences have been shameful and dangerous.
On a personal level, this mission resonates with me because I know a lot of amazing, natural leaders who are allergic to the idea of stepping into the political arena. And I’ve been fortunate to have had the mentorship and support in my career that helped me overcome those hurdles.
I want Honor Bound to help do that for others — provide the inspiration, the encouragement, the guidance, and the resources for incredible Americans (not just women vets but any woman who has served our country in the past in places like the CIA, FBI or service through Americorps) to take their service to the next level and run for office.
I hope you’ll join me in this effort. We’re starting this organization from scratch, and we could use your help.
Make a donation today, and you’ll forever be a founder of Honor Bound [[link removed]] . (If you chip in $75 or more, I’ll send you an autographed copy of my book as a symbol of my gratitude. And every Founding Donor will receive an invitation to an exclusive book launch event.)
What we’ve built together inspires me to keep going, because I know this fight is far from over.
Thank you,
Amy
