Good afternoon friend,

In the year assisted dying was banned in England and Wales, the Berlin Wall went
up, the first human travelled to space and the Beatles played their first gig at
the Cavern Club. Racial discrimination was not yet a crime, homosexuality was
illegal and so was abortion.

Society has moved on. Yet the laws and culture governing how we die remain in
the dark ages. Like you, I know that society is ready for an assisted dying law
- you can be a part of that change by becoming a member today.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Suicide Act - the law that criminalised
assisted dying for terminally ill people. The law that we are campaigning to
reform today.

Thanks to the efforts of our fantastic members and supporters, there are now
Assisted Dying Bills coming in both the House of Lords and the Scottish
Parliament. We have three years to get these two new Bills passed - this is our shot. Will
you make the most of this historic opportunity and help us cross the finish line?

So much has changed in the last 60 years. Dying people can’t wait another 60 for
the right to die on their own terms. By joining as a member today,
[[link removed]] you are doing your bit to ensure they won’t have to.

The time is now. Together, we will change the law.

Keep fighting,
