In 2018, Pennsylvania’s General Assembly unanimously passed legislation giving local community leaders an important tool to address serious cases of untreated mental illness. To date, not a single Pennsylvania county has implemented Act 106, the state's assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) law. This is a tragic missed opportunity.
