John, put a park within everyone’s reach. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌
Every child needs a park!
John,

Like me, you hopefully have many fond memories from your childhood of playing with friends and family at your neighborhood playground or park … swinging … playing tag … climbing a jungle gym … sliding … having fun.

A playground is considered a staple of life for children growing up in the United States. But sadly, 28 million children living in the U.S. do not have a park within a 10-minute walk of home. Having a park in your neighborhood should be a right, not a privilege … especially for our children.

Every kid in America needs the benefits of a quality park to reach their full potential. And there is no greater opportunity to connect kids to the outdoors than by making the most of our nation’s schoolyards.

Great schoolyards are good for our children in so many ways. Studies have shown that swapping out blacktop for trees, gardens, and up-to-date play equipment delivers significant benefits to kids — improving concentration … decreasing stress … and providing meaningful places for kids and people of all ages to connect.

John, that’s why I am asking you and our most dedicated supporters to support The Trust for Public Land’s Community Schoolyards™ projects today.

These projects are an aggressive effort to create new parks and transform neglected schoolyards in the communities of greatest need with the help of local and national partnerships … and we need your help to raise $50,000 in August to serve the next community which needs our help.

By 2025, our goal is to bring Community Schoolyards to 20 underserved school districts, improving park access for 6 million people. And to meet this aggressive timeline, we need your support today to meet our most immediate fundraising goal.

Will you help us transform barren public schoolyards into vibrant community parks for children around the United States, and support our many other important projects, by making a tax-deductible contribution now?

Thanks to our cost-efficiency, our ability to leverage land deals, and our advocacy efforts to recruit additional government and corporate support, The Trust for Public Land can create $3 for parks for every $1 that is contributed … which means your contribution has TRIPLE the impact upon our efforts.

Please do your part by making a tax-deductible contribution today. Your dollars will support our efforts to build and rehabilitate schoolyards as well as our many other efforts to expand our parkland and open space around the nation. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Kim Elliot Signature
