A serious debate question about court reform was unimaginable earlier this year. But thanks to people like you showing up to rallies, signing petitions, and speaking out online, we have made it clear that every Democratic candidate needs to have a plan for fighting the GOP’s court takeover — because every other issue talked about during last night’s debate will come down to the courts.

Whoever the eventual Democratic candidate is needs to be fully committed to pushing for structural court reform — adding justices to the Supreme Court, implementing term limits, and instituting a code of ethics. We cannot protect the right to choose, save our environment, push for economic justice, or stand up for immigrants if the Supreme Court is controlled by GOP operatives who can overturn new policies, so every single Democrat needs a plan to take back the court.
