People For Member,
The For the People Act is desperately needed, but the Far Right is waging an all-out war to block its passage in the Senate. Led by Mitch McConnell, the Right will stop at nothing to prevent this bill from passing as they know the bill threatens many of the dirty tricks they exploit to stay in power.
Unless the filibuster is eliminated or significantly reformed, there is virtually NO chance of the For the People Act passing and ushering in desperately needed measures that would help root out corruption, protect voting rights and strengthen our democracy.
And right now, we need President Biden to do more to get this vital bill across the finish line.
The filibuster is an outdated and racist procedural rule in the Senate that has been used repeatedly throughout history to block landmark legislation, and we cannot let that happen once again.
As you read this, those on the Far Right are laying the groundwork to further gerrymander congressional districts, prevent voters from accessing the ballot, and contest election outcomes they aren’t happy with – jeopardizing our democracy for countless elections to come.
Don’t let those on the Far Right undermine our democracy.
