Friends,

Last week, I co-sponsored and helped introduce legislation that would extend the CDC’s eviction moratorium to ensure Iowa renters who are behind on their payments aren’t forced onto the street just because rental assistance that I secured through the American Rescue Plan hasn’t been distributed by our state as quickly or efficiently as our families need.

As Vice Chair of the Housing Subcommittee on the Financial Services Committee, I know how critically important keeping a roof over your head is to being financially stable and secure – especially while deadly COVID-19 variants are still present in our communities.

I was disappointed to see the moratorium expire this weekend without Congress voting on this important legislation that I support, and I want to hear from you as I work with my colleagues to determine our next steps – do you believe the eviction moratorium should be extended?

Should the Eviction Moratorium Be Extended?

Thank you,
Cindy
