On July 14th, Governor Whitmer approved and signed a new $17.1 billion school aid budget, marking one of the state’s largest investments in education in history. 

Education is an issue that is dear to my heart. As a former school board member and former owner of a business aiming to fix summer learning loss, education has always been a priority for me. 

Working with my colleagues as the Leader of the Democratic Caucus to pass this budget was truly an honor and I couldn’t be here without your support. Because of you, I voted to help close the gap between Michigan's highest and lowest funded school districts, bring preschool education to 22,000 more children through the Great Start Readiness Program, and more.
