Dear John

Your support has never been more important, and never had more impact. With you by our side, and thanks to your generous donations, we can continue to carry out our promise to you – to rescue, protect and fight for wild animals in need. And it’s been quite a month!

RESCUED, THANKS TO YOU!

You funded a very special care unit at Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection, and the very first patient, orphan chimp baby Mary Beauty, is now loving life, and loving climbing, as you can see!

Our Zambia Primate Project partners have rescued Junior and 31 other vervet monkeys kept illegally as pets – now thriving at their pre-release facility in Kafue National Park. That’s 32 animals on their way to freedom thanks to your generosity.

And, in Cameroon, Kiss Kiss the rescued kite has flown free thanks to expert care at Limbe Wildlife Rescue, funded by Born Free with your kind help. It’s all go in Africa!

WITH YOU EACH ANIMAL COUNTS

Closer to home, our very own rescuer Tarnya Knight took in two seven-week-old barn owl chicks, Stirling and Kane, found alone on a barn floor in Billingshurst, West Sussex. Thanks to expert care from our friends at Folly Wildlife Rescue in Kent, they’ll soon be ready to go wild.

YOU CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO

How much do zoos really spend on field conservation? You’ll be surprised! Take a look at Born Free’s shocking new report ( [link removed] ) where we reveal just 6.6% of zoo visitor entrance fees is used to fund wildlife conservation projects. Even the zoo industry is taking notice of this one!

YOU FUND VITAL BIG CAT CONSERVATION

Thanks to your support, in the last two years, we have reinforced 64 traditional bomas in Kenya. These enclosures are now safeguarding 19,300 livestock and the livelihoods of over 1,250 people. So you’re reducing conflict and keeping lions safe. ( [link removed] )

Meanwhile in India, you’ve help us train 385 villagers as Tiger Ambassadors. They help monitor wild tigers, resolve conflict amongst local people and raise awareness to tiger protection ( [link removed] ).

While in Argentina and Bolivia you’ve helped install 45 new camera traps, which monitor wild jaguars ( [link removed] ), provide vital information for their conservation and thus prevent conflict with local cattle ranchers.

That’s three species of rare big cats you’re helping keep safe. Fantastic! Your support is saving lives.

The animals can’t show their appreciation, but we can! Thank you for all you do to help wild animals. Together we make THE best team!
