Cori has been leading a rally in front of the U.S. Capitol to call on Congress to reconvene and pass an extension of the eviction moratorium.
John,
We're in an eviction emergency.
On Friday, the House recessed without extending the eviction moratorium leaving millions of people at risk of being removed from their homes.
Let's be clear: There is no excuse for our Democratic-controlled House, Senate, and White House to put people at risk of being unhoused, especially during this public health crisis.
As a formerly unhoused person, Cori knows what an eviction notice can mean. So she has been leading a rally in front of the U.S. Capitol to call on Congress to reconvene and pass an extension of the eviction moratorium.
Cori has been outside of the Capitol since Friday night demanding that our Democratic-controlled government take action to save millions from eviction. Cori and our allies in Congress have barely slept in days and have been out in the rain because we aren't afraid to do what needs to be done to save lives.
Cori won't stop fighting until Congress steps up to address the unhoused crisis in our country. But she needs our support to keep leading this fight, John.
Will you chip in $5 or anything meaningful to you to help power Cori's organizing work? Every donation will go directly to advocating for unhoused families and making housing a basic right in our country.
Chip in $5
This is a defining moment for Democrats and how we lead when we're elected. We can and we must build a future where nobody is unhoused.
In solidarity,
Team Cori
