A day in my life as the National Finance Director of DAGA.
Friend, before we dive in, I want to send a huge “thank you” to this team for your support. Even though we didn’t meet our July fundraising goal, I’m still blown away by how much this team of supporters reinforces our work every day.
This level of early investment puts us right on-track to win big in the 30+ Attorney General seats up for election this midterm cycle. Each one of these races will need our full attention and a lot of resources powering them, and your generosity is making that possible.
Without further ado though, I wanted to give you all a look into my daily life as the National Finance Director of DAGA. My main job is to raise enough money to elect the progressive Democratic Attorneys General we all deserve – even as GOP dark money pours in to stop us.
At 6:30 a.m., I wake up in a jolt of anxiety and let out Gus, my pup (you might remember him as our adorable Director of Fun-raising). After some copious petting and feeding, I make myself some coffee and get swept into the latest episode of Love Island.
I also flip through hot-off-the-press media clips, to see what our Dem AGs have been up to (like defending the Affordable Care Act before the Supreme Court, for example). If there’s a clip that’s relevant to our donors, I make sure to pass it along. Sometimes those stories end up in your inbox, too!
After that, Gus and I head into my daily morning check-in (yes, it’s still the morning) with the finance team, where we share updates on top-priority projects. Not to brag, but I work with some of the smartest money-crunching, strategy-devising folks in politics – who are all so passionate about the power that Dem AGs have in shaping our country.
I then break away to meet with other DAGA departments to brainstorm fun, new ways we can collaborate and raise more critical dollars before midterm season.
Between this flurry of Zooms, signing off on emails, and walking Gus, the day flies by. I finish off by collecting any checks that have arrived, logging off, and taking Gus on one more long walk (dodging D.C.’s ruthless mosquitos along the way). Then, we get ready to do it all over again tomorrow!

Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
