Why Nashville? Because Kevin McCarthy wants to be Speaker of the House. And he knows that can only happen if Tennessee Republicans crack Nashville through redistricting – dividing Nashville into four Republican districts instead of keeping the city whole.
If that isn’t crass enough, at the Republicans’ big fundraising dinner last night, McCarthy joked about hitting Speaker Nancy Pelosi with the Speaker’s gavel if he gets the chance to receive it from her. I’m committed to ensuring McCarthy never gets close to having that opportunity.

I’ve fought for Middle Tennessee my entire life. Nashville has always had one Congressman committed to ensuring our great city remains strong. What would happen – God forbid it – if Nashville gets hit by another natural disaster and families and small businesses desperately need federal aid? Nashvillians wouldn’t know which Republican Congressman to turn to for help if the city is sliced into four separate districts. And with the way Republicans have been threatening blue cities like Nashville, who could blame them if they didn’t trust that the help would be delivered?
I need your help in this fight. Nashville got lucky in the last redistricting cycle, when the State legislature carved up a 7-2 map, favoring Republicans. This time, it’s not so clear. Can help our campaign by ensuring we have the resources to fight back? Chip in here!
Gratefully,
