Friend, we have a big problem, so I won't sugarcoat it: We fell short of last night's end-of-month goal, and now we're behind in a race that experts say will decide Senate control. 

Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight reports that Republicans are favored to retake the majority for Mitch McConnell in next year's election, and it's clear why: they only have to flip one seat – and they've made me their top target for defeat.

In fact, the GOP has already started running attack ads to smear my record and turn Georgia red. The attacks will only keep coming – and now, with this new fundraising gap, we're falling short of what it will take to fight back. That's why we have to close this budget shortfall immediately – so I have to ask: Can you rush an urgent contribution of $5 or more right now to help us keep Georgia blue and defend our Senate majority?

While I've spent my first months in office providing pandemic relief to struggling families, fighting for voting rights, working to expand access to affordable health care and delivering on our progressive priorities, extremist Republicans are doing everything they can to smear my record and flip this seat red.

Now their megadonors are funneling millions into dark-money groups, spending whatever it takes to try and turn Georgia red, retake control of the Senate and block our agenda at every turn. So we cannot accept this missed fundraising goal – or any missed goals going forward. Every dollar has the power to decide this race, so I'm counting on you to give as much as you can right now. 

Every minute we waste by not hitting our goal is another minute we give the GOP to mobilize against us. So please, friend, I have to ask: Will you give $5 or more right now – as much as you can spare by midnight tonight – so we can win in Georgia and defend our Democratic Senate majority?
