Even now, the GOP is intent on whitewashing the events of January 6 to protect themselves. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and many other far-right GOP members know they are responsible for what unfolded on January 6, and they're actively trying to deny the insurrection was an insurrection so they aren't held accountable for their crimes.
This entire time, Congressman Ted Lieu has been on the front lines of protecting our democracy. He catalyzed the impeachment of Donald Trump by urging his colleagues to take action. He called out the GOP for their blatant hypocrisy on January 6. And he has continued to fight back against the far-right and their lies during the Capitol hearings.
