People For Member,

America must get better at investing in its care economy.

During the coronavirus pandemic, it’s become exponentially more difficult for many seniors and people with disabilities to receive care and remain active members of their communities. At the same time, their care workers are struggling to survive during this time of unprecedented economic hardship.

That’s why we need Congress to include the critical provisions of the Better Care Better Jobs Act in the upcoming budget reconciliation package.

Sign today to urge Congress to support seniors, people with disabilities, and care workers by passing the Better Care Better Jobs Act! >>

“No one should have to wait to get the care they deserve, and no care worker should have to live below the poverty line to give this care.”- House Representative Debbie Dingell (D-MI)

The Better Care Better Jobs Act would help seniors and people with disabilities by strengthening and expanding access to Medicaid home- and community-based care services and would provide better pay and benefits for the direct care workforce.

Right now, people are not able to receive the care they need while care workers are struggling with severe underpayment and lack of benefits, a problem that disproportionately impacts women and people of color. The reconciliation package is the best chance we have to get these crucial provisions passed in time for it to make a real difference in peoples’ lives.

This bill helps fulfill President Biden’s commitment to investing in our care economy by giving dignity to seniors and people with disabilities, keeping people active in their communities, and ensuring economic stability for some of our lowest-paid essential workers.

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.

People For is fighting back every day with:

✔ Grassroots organizing
✔ Lobbying and advocacy
✔ Research and education
✔ Voter mobilization
✔ And more…

But we can’t do this vital work without the robust grassroots financial support of our members and activists.
