Hi friend, I’ve been doing call-time all day trying to raise money before our end-of-month deadline, but I’m taking a quick break to write you this note. Will you consider supporting my campaign for governor before midnight tonight?

If you’re contemplating whether you should contribute tonight, let me suggest one reason why. We need diverse leadership. Stunningly, only two African-Americans have ever been elected governor in our nation's history, and there has never been an Afro-Latino governor. It's time for that to change, and I’m ready to blaze the trail.

By electing me as Maryland’s next governor, we would make history. Young Black and Latino kids deserve to see leadership in which they can see themselves represented, and I hope to serve as an example showing them that they can accomplish anything.
