Dear John,
Last night, as the House of Representatives set out for summer vacation, Congresswomen Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley slept on the steps of the United States Capitol to call on Congress to extend the moratorium on evictions that expires at midnight tonight:
Without an extension of the federal eviction moratorium that was instituted at the beginning of the pandemic, 7.4 million Americans — or 16% of renters — will be put at risk of eviction.
Democrats control Congress and the White House, and they have the power to stop this from happening.
Right now, the Working Families Party is mobilizing supporters in Washington, DC to join these WFP champions in Congress and demand that Democratic leaders meet the urgency of this moment for the millions of working families nationwide worried about being kicked out of their homes starting tomorrow.
If you are in the DC area, please join us at the Capitol now to protest the expiration of the eviction moratorium. In this critical moment, Congresswomen Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley need our support:

Or if you can't make it, please add your name to tell Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Schumer, and President Biden to act immediately to extend the federal eviction moratorium:
