For far too long, the Hyde Amendment -- a ban on federal funds being used to pay for abortion -- has been a barrier for mainly poor, Black, Latina, Indigenous, and disabled women to access abortion services.

Too many women have carried an unwanted pregnancy to term simply because they couldn't afford to pay for an abortion out-of-pocket. This is an injustice and needs to end.

Diana believes that nothing -- not race, class, gender identity, or zip code -- should limit abortion access. She's been fighting against the Hyde Amendment for her whole career by introducing bills like the EACH Act to reverse Hyde and by fighting to remove Hyde from the federal budget. And her hard work is paying off.

Thanks to Diana's advocacy, the Hyde Amendment doesn't appear in any spending bills for the first time since its introduction in 1976.

This is a gigantic step toward reproductive equity, but the fight is far from over. Expanding abortion access is one of the fights of our lifetimes and requires us all to come together.
