As July comes to a close, we can look back on the summer so far and see one sobering proof point after another: Deadly heat waves throughout the United States. Wildfires so severe and widespread that even folks on the East Coast are seeing their skies go hazy. And thousand-year floods in Europe and China.
It's hard to deny that this is the summer of climate change. But here's the thing: Without action, we might remember this summer as a time when our climate was relatively hospitable.
