Hi John,

July is National Disability Pride Month and here at NCTE, we celebrate
our siblings living with disabilities and make sure that our work
focuses on improving the lives of the most vulnerable within our
community.

According to the 2015 U.S. Trans Survey, respondents with disabilities
also faced higher rates of economic instability and mistreatment than
non-disabled respondents. Nearly one-quarter (24%) were unemployed,
and 45% were living in poverty. They also reported higher rates of
mistreatment by health care providers (42%).

NCTE honors our trans siblings with disabilities by dismantling the
conditions that keep trans people unhoused, unemployed, impoverished,
and without adequate healthcare.

Donate $20 today to fight with us on the local, state, and federal
level to advance trans equality and consider becoming a monthly
supporter to join us for the long haul.

As NCTE's Policy Advocate, I am excited to be expanding my work
engaging with the Department of Health and Human Services. I've
also recently met with Vice President Kamala Harris to highlight our
work and commitment to trans equality.

Due to the Biden-Harris Administration's strong commitment to trans
rights, community advocates spoke about barriers often faced as trans
or queer people who also face discrimination based on age, race, and
disability. What was most impactful is that we had an intersectional
conversation with the Vice President, who affirmed that we are all of
our identities, all of the time. That's why I know, at NCTE, we are
excited to work with the White House and improve the lives of so many
trans people.

Commit $20 to invest in celebrating National Disability Month with
NCTE, and our fight to ensure trans people with disabilities are
represented, insured, and have their voices counted.
