Next year, we’ll have to work hard to keep Mitch McConnell and Republican obstructionists from taking the majority in the Senate. So when CNN said my Senate race is one of the most likely chances for Democrats to flip a seat, I knew we were in for a critical election.

This race is all the more important because the two leading GOP candidates are divisive and a danger to our democracy.

John, with a critical end-of-month fundraising deadline tonight at midnight, can you chip in $5 or whatever you can today so we can flip this seat and fundamentally change who has power in our country?

Mansion Man Mark McCloskey got internet famous for threatening peaceful protesters by pointing a gun at them outside his mansion. Then there’s disgraced ex-Gov. Eric Greitens. And both are now officially criminals.

Campaigns like theirs are designed by the special interests who back them. While they sow division and distraction, their corporate backers write the laws that leave everyday people behind -- Black, white, and brown, young and old, urban and rural. It’s class warfare from the top.

Finally putting working people in charge of our country has to start with beating these clowns and flipping this U.S. Senate seat. That’s the only way we’ll have a shot at ending the filibuster, passing the For The People Act, and making our government work for us, not for the massive corporations sucking us dry.
