When someone works 40 hrs a week and makes minimum wage that doesn't pay rent, what is the definition of minimum for? Minimum respect? Minimum regard for life? Minimum amount that billionaires can part with while still being able to go to space? Pay people a living wage. Period.

Rashida represents the third poorest congressional district in the country. Even before the pandemic, residents of her district were in crisis mode, living paycheck to paycheck.
In addition to demanding a $15 minimum wage, Rashida co-introduced the Automatic Boost to Communities (ABC) Act, which would deliver monthly $2,000 payments to everyone in the U.S.—regardless of immigration status.
The Washington Post has referred to her ABC Act, which would reverse the Trump-GOP tax cuts for the wealthy, as the “closest plan in Congress to universal basic income.”[1]
