With Summer in full swing and August just around the corner, I wanted to give you an update on what’s going on in Washington. July has been a busy month, with everything from combating inflation to fighting woke culture, and taking a stand for freedom in Cuba.
The Cost of Living is on the Rise
Inflation has risen every single month since President Biden took office. This has impacted us all, as prices on everyday items have risen dramatically. Here are just a few examples:
  • 8.4% price increase for bacon
  • 7.3% price increase for fresh fruit
  • 5.6% prices increase for milk
  • 1.5% price increase for bread
This is money coming out of our pockets, and there’s no question that the continued reckless spending spree of the Democrats will only add to this unprecedented increase. I am working with my Republican colleagues to rein in spending and create an economic climate that incentivizes work, lessens the burden of federal taxes, and allows competition in the market.

Cuba Libre
Over the past few weeks, Cubans have taken to the streets of Havana to fight for freedom. They live under a brutal communist regime that dates back 62 years to Fidel Castro’s violent takeover. These brave Cubans just want a free country, and in turn the dictatorship has cracked down even harder on free speech, and they are physically beating protestors to death in the streets.
I am proud to stand with the Cuban people in their fight for freedom, and many of my colleagues in Congress have taken a stand too. As a freedom-loving nation, we must always support those who risk their lives in pursuit of this ideal.

Fighting to Protect Girls’ Sports
There are few things that teach our kids life lessons better than sports. Growing up and playing with a team teaches values that stick with them for the rest of their life. Kids learn how to work hard, how to commit to the team, how to shake hands with the opponent after a loss and stay humble after a win. These lessons cannot be replaced, and it’s exactly why we must protect the equality and fairness of sports throughout school.
When Title IX was enacted, it did just that for girls’ sports - offering them the same opportunities as boys. This was a great win for our country and it gave many young women a chance to accomplish their dreams. But now, the far left is eroding our cultural values and allowing girls sports to be tarnished. I’m taking a stand against this woke liberal pursuit, and you can read more about it here.

May God bless you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Robert Aderholt
