Friends - time is running out in this election and, unless you act now, we're going to throw away our chance to make history. I hope you'll give me a minute to explain:

In just 21 days, I'm running to become Mississippi's first female African American Attorney General. Right now, this seat is in jeopardy of flipping red - and I need your help to get over the finish line, make history, and defend our Democratic firewall in Mississippi.

Public service has been my life: I'm a retired Army colonel, a civil rights attorney, and most recently, I was the executive director of the ACLU of Mississippi. I've fought my entire life for what's right - and I've made criminal justice reform and voting rights protections my top priorities.

This race could come down to the wire, and we need to raise another $10,000 before midnight if we're going to turn out every Democratic voter and win on Election Day. So, I'm asking you right now: Will you give $1 to help me become Mississippi's first black woman Attorney General and help elect Democratic AGs who will fight to stop Trump's agenda?

The odds have always been stacked against my candidacy: I'm a black woman. I'm running in a state where discriminatory election laws make it harder to win statewide as a Democrat. And Republicans will do anything to beat me.

But grassroots Democrats like you can help me become the first African American to hold any statewide office in Mississippi in 129 years. I know I can win - but the real question is if my campaign will have the resources it needs to cross the finish line.

That's why I'm reaching out today and asking you to give: Will you rush $1 to make sure Democrats like me can win historic elections and stop Republicans from rolling back our rights across the country?

I vow that when elected, I will be the peoples' lawyer - the Attorney General who serves and protects not only Mississippians, but all Americans. This position is too important to sit on the sidelines, friends. I'm counting on you to bring this home for Democrats in Mississippi.

Thank you,

Jennifer Riley Collins
Candidate for Mississippi Attorney General
